Monogram Coffee in Altadore is one of the best cafes in Calgary, and for those centrally-located, there is now a Monogram Coffee Downtown location!
The cafe is located in Fifth Avenue Place (office building), so to cater to downtown clients, it must have a lot of tables and seating. So, unlike its Altadore location, the downtown location is much bigger and more spacious! The space is clean and bright and modern and relaxed.
Sometimes, they also offer coffee workshops for those who want to learn more about coffee and how to make amazing coffee! Just follow their Instagram account or website (below).
Everytime I go to Monogram, my go-to drink is their vegan lattes, made with their homemade almond-cashew milk! It’s creamy, tart, and full of flavour!
Like the Altadore location, they also have meals in case you’re hungry, as well as pastries as a snack. 🙂
You can definitely come here to catch up over coffee with friends, or if you’re like me, do some of your work/reading. There’s also available Wifi for those who need it! There aren’t a lot of outlets, so beware if you need to charge your laptop. P.S. I love place that have community tables! 😀
If you want to visit a good independent cafe, Monogram is one my favourites in Calgary. It’s also much easier now for you because it’s centrally located in Downtown Calgary!
Recommended? Yes!
COST: Moderate. The prices at Monogram is quite similar to other cafes in Calgary. Large espresso-based drinks costs about $5. Pastries and snacks vary from $2 – $6.
TASTE: Very good. Every time I go to Monogram, I always get their vegan lattes with homemade almond-cashew milk, even if it is a bit more expensive than the rest of their drinks. My friend had their London Fog, which she surprisingly liked because she hates Starbucks’ London Fog.
ACCESSIBILITY: Easy. Monogram Coffee Downtown is conveniently located in Downtown Calgary (5th Ave & 2nd St), so it’s quite accessible by public transport. In spite of its central location, parking can be difficult and limited.
ATMOSPHERE: Very nice. The downtown location is much bigger than the Altadore location, which is great for meetings and lone workers since there are more seating and tables. It’s also very clean, modern, comfortable and hip!
SERVICE: 8/10. The baristas and servers are really friendly, like in the Altadore location! If you decide to stay in the cafe, the baristas are nice enough to serve your drink/food at your table! 🙂
