Mango Mania is my new favourite go-to bubble tea/dessert drink cafe in Calgary!

The dessert shop opened in Calgary during summer 2016, so it is still relatively new to the Calgary food scene. However, it’s since quickly become a gem in the dessert drink shop game. My sister and cousin brought me here for the first time, and I now almost always go there to get my tea drink fix.

They have a lot to offer at Mango Mania. There is a list of their “signature drinks,” which are pretty popular and uses a ton of mango and/or coconut. They also offer various teas and smoothies, and baos to eat (Chinese taco-sandwiches) if you’re hungry. Additionally, they have some panna cotta and puddings ready-to-eat!
I love that you can modify your drink to your likeness too! If you want more mango chunks or tapioca or mochi or pomelo, you go on ahead.

More often than not, there is a line to order, especially during evenings and weekends (weekend evenings are hectic). The prices are moderate, and I think it’s a good deal for the size of the drinks. And it’s made with coconut and/or mango, arguably the most expensive fruits in a winter-ridden city.
The shop is small, with only a few benches to sit at. If you’re lucky, you may be able to grab a seat! If not, you’d either have to stand or leave the shop once you get your drink.

My favourite go-to drink is the coconut mango, which is made with a coconut milk-based slush with chunks of mango in it. I also quite like the young coconut slush (made with fresh young coconut), but it runs out quickly. Both are also vegan-friendly! The sweetness level is just right; sweet but not too sweet.

If you want to try something new and delicious after dinner, go ahead and try out Mango Mania! Your trip will be worth it!
Recommended? Yes!
COST: Moderate. The prices are similar to most bubble tea shops in Calgary, so expect to pay ~$5 – $8 for a drink. I think it’s a good deal for the size of the drinks too!
TASTE: Very good. If you love mango and/or coconut, then you will love their drinks! My favourite is the Coconut Mango: coconut slush with mango chunks. The young coconut slush is a close second!
ACCESSIBILITY: Moderate. Mango Mania is along Centre Street, so it’s centrally-located. Parking can be limited, but there are some around the area. The area is also serviced by many buses!
ATMOSPHERE: Okay-Nice. The shop is small and is frequently busy during evenings, especially on weekends. Seating is first-come, first-served. It can also be quite loud in peak times. I like the simplicity of the shop though!
SERVICE: 8/10. Even when the shop is busy, the counter staff are still friendly and courteous. The wait for the drinks is reasonable as well (5 – 10 minutes).
