Red’s in Ramsay is a popular brunch spot in Calgary, located in the Ramsay area.
My friends and I went to this Red’s location on a Saturday morning for a brunch get-together. The eatery was already busy, so there was a bit of a wait.
While you wait for a table, they have coffee waiting at the door so you can be caffeinated. Alternatively, if you don’t want to wait by the door, you can wait in line on the Nowait app. It’ll tell you how long the wait is for your party, and save you a spot on the line.
This time, we didn’t have to wait long because I used the app. Red’s in Ramsay is cozy and rustic. The decor is simple, and something that you would find at a cottage in the woods. They also have some beautiful art pieces on the walls, with the eatery being so close to Inglewood (art haven).
Once we were seated, we immediately placed our orders. My friends ordered their eggs Benedict (*ahem basic*), and a toasted BLT sandwich. The plates came with a side, such as fries, potatoes/hash or soup. I opted to make my own veggie burger with extra sauteed onions and a side of fries.
My veggie burger was quite tasty and flavourful, but the onions didn’t add anything to it (as I hoped it would). The burger patty to bun ration was generous compared to other places! And my friends enjoyed their dishes as well.
If you’re looking for a brunch spot on the weekend, check out Red’s in Ramsay! 😀
COST: Moderate. For a breakfast/brunch plate, expect to pay around $13 – $16. For my make-your-own vegan burger, I paid ~$15 with some added extra toppings and a side of fries.
TASTE: Good. My vegan burger was really delicious, albeit a bit messy to eat. It was flavourful and juicy, and I like that they toasted the bun. My friends enjoyed their eggs Bennies and sandwich.
ACCESSIBILITY: Moderate. Red’s in Ramsay is located at Ramsay, which is just south of Inglewood. While there are buses that service the area, driving is probably the easiest & most convenient way to get here.
ATMOSPHERE: Nice. The restaurant can be really busy over mornings, the weekends or holidays. But there are adequate seating for all sizes of groups. It feels rather rustic and cozy inside, with a lot of decor that you would find in a cottage.
SERVICE: 8/10. Our server was really friendly! The wait for our food wasn’t super long (~10-15 minutes). We were treated quite well at Red’s. 🙂
