All-Hype Burgers at Flipp’n Burgers Kensington

Flipp’n Burgers Kensington had so much hype but my visit was pretty mediocre.

Flipp’n Burgers Kensington.

I’ve heard so much about this place through people and social media before so it’s always been in my food bucket list in Calgary. Plus, they are very accommodating to vegans & vegetarians in Calgary with their veggie burgers.

So, I decided to finally give them a visit! My friends and I came to Flipp’n Burgers Kensington on a Sunday evening after church, so it wasn’t too busy. It’s pretty small inside. with only a few tables to sit in. The walls are pretty cool, because they have vintage black & white photos!

Love the old vintage photos on the wall!

I ordered the vegan burger and a side of large fries. My friends also ordered a burger each, and we decided to eat them by the Bow river. Our order came within 20 minutes, which is a bit of a wait for take-out.

Burgers on the way.
Burgers to go.

Once we got our burgers, we made our way to the river. I was really excited, but then disappointed with the burgers. πŸ™

We all thought that our burgers were okay. The buns were really dry, there wasn’t enough sauce, and the bun-to-patty ratio was too big. The fries were also soggy because the steam condensed inside the container.

Our food spread!
My vegan burger was dry and lacked sauce. πŸ™

Overall, our experience was only mediocre. The burgers were not up to par to its hype so it was disappointing, to say the least. Though, still try it out if you want.

Recommended? Maybe.

COST: Moderate. For a burger and a side of fries, expect to pay ~$12 – $16. The burgers were moderately priced, and sides & drinks were optional.

TASTE: Okay. All three of us thought that our burgers was only okay. We all thought that our burger buns were super dry, there was not enough sauce , and the fries were soggy (I like fries crispy).

ACCESSIBILITY: Easy. The eatery is located in Kensington so it is very close to Downtown and Sunnyside station. There is also curbside parking, and the area is serviced by many buses.

ATMOSPHERE: Nice. The restaurant is small with only a few tables & booths, and a picnic table outside during summer. The decor on the walls are pretty cool, which is made up of vintage black & white photos. πŸ˜€

SERVICE: 7/10. The lady who helped us was nice and friendly. And our burgers came within 15-20 minutes after ordering.

Menu is huge!
