Morning Meeting at Wise and Wright

Wise and Wright is a simple and health-conscious cafe that serves tasty, decent food. 🙂

Wise and Wright.

This cafe is one that emphasizes fresh, healthy and natural ingredients in their food. Wise and Wright’s menu caters heavily to health-conscious eaters, and they offer a lot of meals for vegans (yay!). They also have a bunch of different drinks, from smoothies to coffee to beet & turmeric lattes.

Open kitchen ftw.

I ordered the crushed avocado toast and an americano (my go-to). My friend ordered the West Coast smoked salmon toast and a latte. The toasts were pretty simple and tasty, but they weren’t mind-blowing. I thought I could probably make a better vegan avo toast at home for the price.

Crushed avocado for moi & west coast smoked salmon for the lady friend.

The cafe itself was clean and brightly lit. There’s an energetic vibe to the place, perhaps because so many people come and go. It can get awfully stuffy when it is packed, which also means it can get pretty loud. I wouldn’t recommend studying/working here, but it would be ideal for meetings or for a quick bite.

We came pre-lunch, so it was quieter. :D

If you’re looking for healthy eats in downtown or just a quick bite to eat, then Wise and Wright is the place for you!

Hipster toast and coffee.

Recommended? Sure.

COST: Moderate. The prices at Wise and Wright are similar to other cafes. For a meal, expect to pay $6 – $15, and drinks are between $3 – $8.

TASTE: Good. My avo toast was good, but it’s one of those things that you can probably make better and bigger at home. My friend enjoyed her smoked salmon toast as well, and the coffee is good too.

ACCESSIBILITY: Easy. Wise and Wright is connected to The Core, so it’s centrally accessible in downtown. If you opt to drive, there is parking available in the parkade or curbside.

ATMOSPHERE: Nice. The cafe is nice & clean, but it can get stuffy when there are a lot of people. During peak hours, it can get loud, but the perfect time to go would be between 9-11AM or after lunch.

SERVICE: 7/10. Service is not the best, but it’s also not the worst. Some of the servers can be a bit crabby sometimes, particularly during busy hours.
